The most expensive pizza in the world
Do you love Pizzas? Do you salivate at the thought of a hot pizza, topped with your favorite veggies, slivers of meat and lots of cheese? Well, it seems people’s love for this Italian dish is limitless.
While everybody around the world tries to perfect their pizza by experimenting with different toppings and flavours, a group went ahead and created a exclusive and exotic pizza which turned out to be world’s most expensive pizza made till date. How expensive, did you ask?
To enjoy this hand crafted dish you would have to shell out, wait for it, a whopping USD $12000. Yes, like we said, it is the world most expensive pizza! It is called the Louis XIII.
It takes over 72 hours to make this pizza, and perhaps the whopping price is related to how it’s actually made.
When you order this pizza, a pizza chef, sommelier, and exclusive limited-edition cutlery and plates arrive at your home in Italy to prepare the pie (The crust is made 72 hours in advance.)
The pizza is topped with three types of caviar, organic buffalo mozzarella and 7 other cheese varieties, Australian pink salt from the Murray River, prawns from Cilento, mantis shrimp, and lobster.
Remy Martin Cognac Louis XIII and a bottle of vintage 1995 Krug Clos du Mesnil champagne are your accompaniments. For $12,000, you better get ready for a God-like experience.
Chef Viola tells us that “most of the ingredients were sourced from France and Italy”.
A generous spread of Mozarella di bufala, cheese made out of the milk collected from domestic Italian buffaloes gives the pizza its signature moist, chewy and cheesy touch. “The most exclusive ingredients which were also the most expensive were the lobsters which was prepared and flamed with cognac”, he notes.
The exotic ingredients sourced from different parts of Europe, and the amount of preparation and craft that goes into making the pizza, contributes to an absolute culinary marvel that is Louis XIII.
